Belmullet-based charity the Irish Association of Supported Employment will be running its fourth employment week in a fortnights time from Monday, April 22 to Sunday, April 28. Over the course of the week employment organisations, jobseekers and employers will showcase employment for people with disabilities through a variety of themed events, seminars and a national publicity campaign to raise awareness of employment for people with disabilities throughout the week.

The Irish Association for Supported Employment (IASE) has called for businesses in Mayo to participate in the sixth annual National Supported Employment Week (22 to 28 April). Job Shadow Day (24 April) is the highlight of the week and will see hundreds of people with disabilities shadow a workplace mentor as he or she goes about a normal working day.

They may not be the current kings of the game, but the thought of getting one over Kerry is something that supporters from every other county still relishes. AIB National Youth Ambassador Colm Cooper, aka Gooch, visited Moate Community School to speak to the transition year students about the AIB Build a Bank Challenge programme this week.

The annual AIB Provincial Players Awards had a distinct family feel to them when they were presented in Dublin earlier today with two of the seven awards going to club rivals and blood relations Dessie and Frankie Dolan.

There was further cause for celebration for AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Club Championship finalists Garrycastle recently with the news that one of their star players Dessie Dolan has received an accolade for outstanding performance in the Championship in 2011.
